Morneau Shepell further enhances technology leadership position with "MyAbiliti" app
Employees now have even more accessibility to disability case managers when using this first-ever app, available through iTunes, to stay directly connected and ensure case files are up to date
TORONTO, Oct. 7, 2015 /CNW/ - Morneau Shepell, Canada's largest provider of integrated absence management solutions, is pleased to announce that its "MyAbiliti" app is now available for download from the iTunes App Store, Google Play and on Blackberry. MyAbiliti allows employees on disability leave to stay connected with Morneau Shepell case managers.
Employees can scan and send documents directly into their case file using their smart phones, eliminating potential delays or barriers. They can also text, chat or speak with their (bilingual) case manager from their phones. Case workers are notified of new messages, and can respond in kind, as well as embed correspondence as a case note. Finally, the employee can view their agreed upon regular or gradual return to work schedule in detail.
"The cost of absence is a significant productivity drain on business. Avoiding absence, getting people back to work safely and promptly, and keeping people whole during the process yields big returns for employers and for their employment brand. It also helps ensure employees get the right support in a timely manner," says Zahid Salman, Executive Vice President of Morneau Shepell responsible for the Absence Management Solutions line of business. "Morneau Shepell's philosophy, track record and capabilities in health management, together with our aggressive investments in state-of-the-art absence management technologies, make us unique in the marketplace."
"MyAbiliti is a great step forward. Helping employees stay connected during a leave – through their smartphone – makes perfect sense. It's fast and easy, and makes a great complement to robust telephonic and other communication modalities," says Lucy Turowicz, Morneau Shepell's National Director of Strategic Operations Initiatives. "The app makes it simple and quick to 'snap and submit' forms, and 'tap to accept' a modified work schedule—basic administrative tasks that are often very difficult when away from the workplace."
Employers working with Morneau Shepell's case workers can offer the MyAbiliti app without any additional cost to their disability management program.
MyAbiliti is the newest addition to Abiliti, a full suite of absence management software modules employed by Morneau Shepell case managers and also available for clients to license for internal use. These modules include AbilitiAlert, for absence and workers' compensation incident reporting, AbilitiConnect, an online portal for communication with plan sponsors, employees and people leaders, AbilitiAbsence, a tracking tool for tracking casual absenteeism through online, IVR, or through Morneau Shepell's 24/7 call centre, and AbilitiManage, a best-in-class case management for occupational and non occupational absences. Abiliti is a strategic tool for combatting absenteeism with proven cost reduction and better program outcomes for occupational and non-occupational disability management.
