More Scholarship Opportunities for Canada's Broadcast Journalism Students

TORONTO, Oct. 13 /CNW/ - RTNDF is pleased to announce the establishment of a new scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of 660 News in Calgary, the new scholarship will be known as the 660 News Diversity Scholarship.

"RTNDF is very excited about the addition of this new scholarship," said foundation president Ken Kingston. "It has been the foundation's goal to expand scholarship opportunities for Canada's next generation of broadcast journalists. We would like to thank News Director Audrey Whelan and everyone at 660 News and Rogers for making this scholarship possible."

The 660 News Diversity Scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in any year of aqualified Broadcast Journalism program, who submits a story, feature or series, whichbest explores the issue of diversity. Entries will be judged on editorial excellence,quality of production, quality of interviews, and relevance to a multicultural society.Stories or features that would be considered applicable for submission can include butis not limited to issues of concern to women, persons living with disabilities, Canada'saboriginal community, and persons of a visible minority.

With the addition of the 660 News Diversity Scholarship, RTNDF now provides seven scholarships annually to outstanding broadcast journalism students.
