MONTRÉAL'S ENCHANTED CIRCUIT 2026 - The Great Christmas Market kicks off the holiday season on November 13
Three holiday destinations from downtown to Le Sud-Ouest
MONTREAL, Nov. 3, 2026 /CNW/ -- The Montréal Enchanted Circuit will bring together more than 100 local artisans and producers, 35 food stalls and 300 free activities. Nearly one million visitors are expected across its three destinations, from downtown to Le Sud-Ouest: the Great Christmas Market, the Montréal Christmas Village at Atwater Market Square and the PVM Winter Market on the PVM Esplanade.
The Great Christmas Market of Montréal will kick off the holiday season on November 13 at Place des Festivals and unveil a new monumental entrance arch for its sixth edition.
A free gathering place takes root in the heart of downtown
Building on its growing success year after year, the Great Christmas Market continues to grow and establish itself as part of Montréal's holiday traditions. Its sixth edition will welcome around 50 artisans in the heart of the Quartier des spectacles. Free admission and daily musical entertainment will make it a place to gather and enjoy downtown in winter. The site will also unveil a new entrance arch, along with redesigned spaces at the Maison d'Alsace and La Fabrique.
A new stop on the PVM Esplanade starting November 17
The PVM Winter Market, located on the PVM Esplanade, joins the Montréal Enchanted Circuit for the first time. Starting November 17, this new downtown stop will welcome visitors to a winter setting with food and entertainment that complement the two Christmas markets. La Lutinerie is responsible for the entertainment programming and operates three of the kiosks at the PVM Winter Market, which builds on Montréal's holiday gathering tradition.
The Montréal Christmas Village extends its season to December 24
At Atwater Market Square, the Montréal Christmas Village will welcome visitors from November 26 to December 24 for its 11th edition. For the first time, it will remain open until Christmas Eve, opening daily from December 21 to 24 in addition to its regular Friday-to-Sunday schedule.
The Montréal Christmas Village will feature local artisans and producers, delicious food and free programming for the whole family. Santa Claus will be there for free photos every Saturday and Sunday, as well as from December 21 through 24.
A culinary journey across Montréal
With 35 food stalls, the Circuit invites visitors to discover the flavours of the holiday season. Raclette, pretzels, poutine, roasted chestnuts and maple taffy will be offered alongside sweet treats. Hot chocolate, cinnamon-spiced hot cider and traditional spiced mulled wine, or glühwein, will round out the experience.
Between tastings, visitors can browse the artisans' chalets for original, sustainable gifts while supporting local businesses and craftsmanship.
Montréal supports the growth of its Christmas markets
By supporting the development of the Great Christmas Market and the Montréal Christmas Village, the partners help make Montréal a destination of choice during the holidays. These events invite Montrealers and tourists alike to discover local creations and specialties and choose locally made products.
Both Christmas markets receive financial support from the Québec Ministry of Tourism and Tourisme Montréal. The City of Montréal also supports the Great Christmas Market, while Le Sud-Ouest borough supports the Montréal Christmas Village.
"For 11 years now, Le Sud-Ouest borough has proudly supported the Montréal Christmas Village at Atwater Market Square. Many local and regional artisans are returning with ethical, eco-friendly products to place under the Christmas tree. With fire pits, food stalls and activities, visitors can extend their outing along the Lachine Canal and discover the shops, restaurants and boutiques that make Notre-Dame Street so special. It is an invitation to explore our neighbourhoods and experience the magic of the holidays right up to December 24!"
Véronique Fournier, Borough Mayor of Le Sud-Ouest
"The Circuit continues to grow year after year, thanks to people who put their hearts into creating moments of joy for others. This season, around a hundred volunteers will join our team, bringing their energy and dedication to this shared effort. We keep improving our installations and enriching our free programming to live up to the public's enthusiasm and make the magic of Christmas accessible to everyone. Our greatest reward is seeing Montrealers enjoying time together and feeling proud of the holiday traditions we are building with them. Our ambition is to make Montréal shine."
