MONTRÉAL, Mar. 3, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - St. Patrick's Society of Montreal is set to welcome Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre as its Guest of Honour at its Annual Charity Ball on March 6, 2015
Elected Mayor of Montréal on November 3, 2013, Mr. Coderre is also Executive Committee Member responsible for Economic Development, International Relations, Mont-Royal and Montréal's 375th Anniversary.
From 1997 to 2013, Mr. Coderre represented constituents in Bourassa who elected him six times to the House of Commons. He held several ministerial positions in the Government of Canada.
Mr. Coderre played a crucial role in issues of critical importance to Montréal, including the establishment of the World Anti-Doping Agency's headquarters in Montréal.
Previous guests of honour include community volunteer Margaret Healy (2014), MNA Kathleen Weil (2013), and Hon. Jim Flaherty (2012).
St. Patrick's Society of Montreal was founded March 17, 1834 to unite the members of the Irish Canadian community and to promote the charitable, educational, and cultural interests of the community.
