MONTREAL, May 2, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - The Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon & ½ Marathon is proud to announce an important addition to its team. Renowned marketing and sponsorship executive, Montrealer Louis Tremblay Malafarina, has been appointed as Executive Director and official spokesperson for the Competitor Canada, which produces the popular Rock 'n' Roll Marathon Series.
Louis brings to the organisation his notable experience, which includes executive roles at Cirque du Soleil and at the Just for Laughs Festival. He is a regular runner who has trained in many parts of the world, from Tokyo, to Berlin, to Mexico City. "Louis is a tremendous addition to our Montreal team," said Josh Furlow, President of Competitor Group Inc. "He was born and raised in Quebec, and his experience as a leader and marketer will help us continue to make the Rock 'n' Roll Oasis Montreal Marathon one of the best running events in the world."

This isn't the only change to coincide with Montreal's 375th anniversary. For the first time this year, the event will be held on two days. "Hosting two days of events over the full September 23-24 weekend gives us more opportunities to provide added experiences for the runners," explained Mr. Malafarina, adding that "the goal is to ensure the success of this full-weekend edition."
