MONTREAL, Dec. 2, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Outremont Projet Montréal councillor Mindy Pollak will receive today the "2014 Orthodox Jewish All Stars" award. Mindy Pollak will join nine other recipients being recognized for social involvement and professional success by the Jew in the City organization.
"I am very honoured that Jew in the City has chosen to recognize my work in the community. The first year of my mandate has been one of learning and has been full of challenges. I hope that, over the coming years, I will continue to grow closer to the different communities in my neighbourhood", she said.
Mindy Pollak is the borough councillor for Claude-Ryan district in Outremont. Her election in November 2013 was a historic moment, as she became the first Hassidic Jewish woman to be elected to public office.
The award ceremony will be held on Tuesday, December 2nd, 7:00PM at the Museum of Jewish Heritage, 36 Battery Place, New York City.
