Michael Keaveney Named Director of Investment Management, Canada for Morningstar Investment Management

TORONTO, June 16, 2014 /CNW/ - Michael Keaveney, CFA^®, has been appointed director of investment management, Canada, for the Morningstar Investment Management group. Keaveney will be responsible for leading institutional investment consulting and investment management in Canada. He will oversee investment solutions for Canadian clients, with particular emphasis on asset allocation, investment strategy, and product development.

Before joining Morningstar, Keaveney was a director for CIBC Asset Management's Investment Management Research team, where he led the teams responsible for investment policy guidelines, investment proposals, portfolio construction, and communications. Before joining CIBC, he was a portfolio analyst and portfolio manager with Baskin Financial, a Toronto-based investment counsel firm. Earlier in his career, he spent 13 years with TD Asset Management in several analytical, business development, sales, and management positions.

Keaveney holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Waterloo and a master's degree in finance from the University of London. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Toronto.
