Mercedes-Benz Canada reports the company's best June, best second quarter and best half-year results ever Français
TORONTO, July 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that the company has delivered a record-breaking total of 3,754 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles throughout the month of June. This represents a month-over-month increase of 7.5% or 261 additional units, further propelling the best ever year-to-date total to 19,349 units retailed in the first half of 2014. With a total of 10,708 units delivered in the last three months ending June 30th, Mercedes-Benz Canada also celebrated its best second quarter results ever in the company's history.
A total of 3,200 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks were sold in June, which is ahead 5.8% for the month. Passenger car sales totaled 1,868 units in June. This represents an overall growth of 11.4% or 9,420 units for the year. The continued sales increase can be attributed to impressive CLA-Class, C-Class, E-Class as well as S-Class performances. On the luxury light trucks side, a total of 1,331 units were sold in June. This represents an increase of 19.7% compared to 2013 sales figures, and was fueled by significant sales growth for all light trucks (GLK-, M-, GL- and G-Class).
The overall diesel take rate was 76% for the month, while 4MATIC™ permanent all-wheel drive units accounted for 83.6% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in June (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 198 vehicles sold in June for a 36.6% increase for the month. Accounting for a 50% increase year-to-date volume, a total of 904 smart fortwos have been retailed so far this year including more than 200 smart electric drive models.
Mercedes-Benz Sprinter sales in June were at 356 units, up 10.2%. A record-breaking six-month cumulative total of 2,078 units is now ahead by 381 vans compared to last year's results at the end of June 2013 for a year-to-date gain of 22.5%.
Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned sales posted gains of 15.2% in June with 1,286 vehicles retailed throughout the month. A total of 6,932 units have been delivered for the first half of 2014 which equates to an increase of 5.3% or 351 units so far in 2014.
