Mercedes-Benz Canada reports strong sales performance in February
TORONTO, March 3, 2014 /CNW/ - Mercedes-Benz Canada and its national dealer network reported today that the company has delivered a grand total of 2,328 Mercedes-Benz, Sprinter and smart vehicles throughout February which translates into an overall gain of 5.3% for the month.
A total of 1,953 Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and luxury light trucks were retailed in February. This represents a 14.7% year-to-date sales increase with a total of 3,946 units delivered so far in 2014.
Passenger car sales totaled 1,009 units in February, and can be attributed to strong CLA-Class and B-Class model sales along with a particularly remarkable performance for the S-Class, up 204.5% compared to last year. On the luxury light trucks side, a total of 944 units were sold. This was fueled by M-Class deliveries growing by an impressive 34.5% from last February.
The diesel take rate for luxury light trucks was 79.4% for the month, while permanent all-wheel drive 4MATIC™ units accounted for 77% of overall passenger car and light truck sales in February (excluding smart).
smart reported a total of 95 vehicles sold in February, which equates to a 58.3% increase when compared to the same time period last year.
A total of 280 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters were delivered throughout the month, which is ahead 14.3% compared to February 2013.
The Mercedes-Benz Pre-Owned division reported 824 vehicles sold in February. This helped bring year-to-date growth to 2.5%, with 1,623 Certified Pre-Owned units delivered in 2014.
