Mega Bloks and the Power Rangers team up against autism
Mega Bloks donates a MEGA Mural created by fans at San Diego Comic-Con to San Diego based charity, Motiva Associates
SAN DIEGO, CA, July 19, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - MEGA Brands Inc. (TSX: MB) Mega Bloks, created the ultimate building experience at this year's San Diego Comic-Con (July 12th to 15th), by transforming their booth into a community build wall -- the MEGA Mural. On Monday, July 16th, the Power Rangers alongside the Mega Bloks team joined together to deliver the MEGA Mural to the devoted volunteers and children at Motiva Associates, an Autism Speaks partner located in California.

During Comic-Con, Mega Bloks invited fans to visit their booth to add as many blocks as they wished to the MEGA Mural in order to help build a giant Mega Bloks Power Rangers Red Ranger Mask. The mural, built over a period of four days, required more than 270,000 Mega Bloks to build. The excitement was palpable as fans of all ages collaborated in the building of this unique piece.
A proud sponsor of Autism Speaks Canada and an active supporter of organizations dedicated to autism, Mega Bloks chose to donate the MEGA Mural to Motiva Associates, a local charity in San Diego that is dedicated to families affected by autism and other disorders, as token of appreciation for their commitment to the community.
"Mega Bloks supports Autism Speaks, an incredible organization dedicated to autism awareness and research. We're very happy to have the chance to work together with Motiva Associates, an Autism Speaks partner located in California, says Vic Bertrand, Chief Innovations Officer at MEGA Brands. "We would like to thank all of our fans who showed their support one block at a time by building the MEGA Mural with us; the level of creativity that they demonstrated was simply incredible!".
"Motiva Associates is very appreciative and excited to receive this great mural from MEGA BLOKS and for being recognized by Autism Speaks for our involvement with them in raising funds for such an important cause such as Autism Research", added David Huerta, Intake Specialist at Motiva Associates. "Most importantly, we have to recognize the parents of the children that we serve for their relentless hard work, effort and commitment towards ensuring that their children have the quality of life that they deserve. Our program was honored to be invited by MEGA BLOKS to participate in Comic Con, 2012 and for the generous donation of the Power Rangers Mural. Our children and families will enjoy this for years to come."
