Medical Marihuana Regulations Improve Patient Access

TORONTO, June 10, 2013 /CNW/ - MedCannAccess welcomes the Marihuana for Medical Purposes Regulations released today by Health Canada.
"These reforms reduce red tape, allowing Canadians more timely access to their medicine. Opening the medical cannabis industry to competition will allow us to provide improved patient care across the country," said Blaine Dowdle, CEO.
MedCannAccess welcomes a number of the reforms:
- Simplifying the application process to decrease wait times and improve access for patients
- Allowing an unlimited number of strains of medical marihuana, increasing efficacy
- Allowing patients to choose their provider
- Allowing the importation of medical cannabis genetics
- Allowing the exportation of medical marihuana
- Ability to conduct R&D, positioning Canada as a leader in medical cannabis products
"These regulations will greatly improve patient access to medical marihuana. Health Canada projects that the number of authorized patients will grow 10 fold to 300 000 within 10 years." said Rade Kovacevic, Chief Business Development Officer.
