TORONTO, Dec. 2, 2014 /CNW/ - Jack Daniel's is setting a new holiday tradition in Toronto, literally one barrel at a time with the unveiling of an 18-foot-tall holiday tree, erected from 54 used Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey barrels. The whiskey maker hopes its Barrel Tree will stand as a heart-warming symbol of the true spirit of the holidays.
Local Toronto media are invited to attend the second annual official tree lighting ceremony for the Canadian Jack Daniel's Holiday Barrel Tree outside the office of Brown-Forman Canada Powered by The Hive at 544 King Street West, on Thurs. Dec. 4, 2014.
Through its agency The Hive, the brand is challenging Toronto business organizations and individuals to provide donations in support of The Dr. Jay Charitable Foundation, which provides palliative care funding and support for children, helping families face terminal illness with dignity and determination. Monetary donations will be accepted on-site at the Holiday Barrel Tree lighting ceremony, while online donations can be made at www.thehiveinc.com/barreltreechallenge or at www.drjayfoundation.com.
Guests, including local celebrities at the tree lighting event will have an opportunity to enjoy a sample of Jack Daniel's Winter Jack, a delicious apple whiskey punch, along with other refreshments and light food. Festive carols will be sung by Toronto-based open choir group Choir! Choir! Choir! and recording artist and 2003 Canadian Idol runner up Gary Beals.
