MONTREAL, March 19 /CNW Telbec/ - TechnoMontréal, Anges Québec and the ministère du Développement économique, de l'Innovation et de l'Exportation du Québec (MDEIE) are pleased to invite you to the third edition of Capital Innovation, the most important meeting opportunity for investors and innovative start-ups in Québec, taking place on March 25, 2010 at Montréal's St. James Club.
Capital Innovation brings together more than one hundred investors with entrepreneurs selected for the quality and business potential of their projects. This conference is targeted specifically at private investors and fund managers who are seeking emerging companies in the high-tech sector. Thirty companies will attend the conference and nine finalists will have the opportunity to present at the event. Following the first two editions of Capital Innovation, close to $ 6 million were invested in the finalists' companies and more than 30 jobs were created.
As a keynote speaker, we will welcome Mr. Ian Sobieski, Founder and General Manager of Band of Angels. Mr Sobieski will present the eldest angel network of Silicon Valley, which groups over 120 investors with $180 million investments in more than 200 start-ups. We will also welcome Mr. Jacques Bernier, General Manager of Teralys, a $700 million fund financed partly by the Québec Government. Mr. Bernier will present his strategy and his objectives to create the next generation of high-tech funds in Québec. Finally, a round table on the future of high-tech financing will be held with the participation of the three representatives of the new Québec seed funds : Mr. Jean-Sébastien Cournoyer of FounderFuel, Mr. Michel Lambert of Cycle-C3E et Ms. Inès Holzbaur of Amorchem.
