Media Event and Photo Opportunity - Over 450 Health Care Providers Registered to Attend the South West LHIN's Third Annual Quality Symposium
TORONTO, May 27, 2013 /CNW/ - The South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) will be promoting health care quality and innovation at its third annual Quality Symposium. Health Minister Deb Matthews will be in attendance along with an exciting panel of speakers.
This year's focus is "Living Healthy, Independently and Safely at Home," and will feature a keynote presentation from Deputy Health Minister Saäd Rafi.
In addition, Steve Paikin, host of TVO's "The Agenda," will be moderating a panel discussion on improving the patient/client experience. Other presentations of the day will be focused on the four strategic directions of the South West LHIN Integrated Health Service Plan 2013-2016 including:
- Improving Access to Family Health Care - presented by Rick Glazier, the Senior Scientist and Primary Care Program Leader at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences
- Improving Coordination and Transitions of Care for Those Most Dependent on Health Services - focused on the Health Links implementation and the South West LHIN/Huron Perth Health Link
- Driving Safety Through Evidence-Based Practice - focused on Grey Bruce Falls Prevention
- Increasing the Value of Our Health Care System for the People we Serve - presented by Ted Ball, a Transformation Coach at Quantum Transformation Technologies
Another highlight of the day will be the presentation of the second annual South West LHIN Quality Awards. The awards recognize organizations that have implemented a sustainable quality improvement initiative by working together to achieve performance excellence.
