Media availability with VANOC CEO John Furlong and senior leaders on Tuesday,
January 12 to mark one-month countdown to 2010 Winter Games

VANCOUVER , Jan. 11 /CNW/ - On the occasion of the one-month countdown to the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) will hold a media availability on Tuesday, January 12 with VANOC Chief Executive Officer John Furlong and other members of his executive and senior leadership team to provide an update on final preparations for the Games, including venues, operations and weather preparedness.

The availability will take place at VANOC headquarters shortly after the media briefing by the Olympic and Paralympic Transportation Team (OPTT) on the third and final phase of the 2010 Winter Games integrated transportation plan for the Games region.

In addition, the Main Media Centre for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games has its soft launch opening on Tuesday, January 12 at Canada Place in downtown Vancouver . MMC access is restricted to media accredited for this venue during the Games.

Terry Wright , VANOC executive vice president, services and Games operations, will be available to speak on the MMC opening at the above news conference at VANOC headquarters, as well as at an informal availability for accredited media at the MMC on Tuesday, January 12 . The informal availability will be held in the main lobby of the Main Press Centre between 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm . The Main Media Centre officially opens on January 29 .
