Media Alert: New Oakville LCBO store has unique features

WHAT: Official opening of the new 16,200 square-foot LCBO Olde
Oakville Market Place store at 321 Cornwall Road at Trafalgar
Road, Oakville's largest LCBO outlet. The new store reflects
the latest evolution in LCBO retailing, including a walk-in
temperature and humidity-controlled (THC) room for high-end
wines and a large tasting bar with an automated system for
dispensing wine and spirit samples. It will also offer one of
the largest Vintages fine wine and spirits selections in
Ontario.
LCBO President and CEO Bob Peter, Oakville Mayor Rob Burton,
MADD Canada CEO Andrew Murie and Margaret Anderson, founder of
the Ian Anderson House hospice, will launch the new store by
uncorking and toasting with an Ontario sparkling wine and
Oakville craft beer.
With some 11,500 square feet of display space and more than
3,200 products in total, including 1,500 Vintages wines and
spirits, the new store will be a destination outlet for
Oakville, Mississauga and surrounding communities. It increases
the number of Oakville LCBO outlets to six from five.
The new store will also feature a "Best of Ontario" section
offering more than 200 VQA wines displayed by grape varietal,
e.g. chardonnay, riesling, merlot, pinot noir. Another 180
wines produced by Ontario wineries are also available. There is
also an event kitchen with an overhead LCD screen for cooking
demonstrations and wine appreciation classes and tutored
tastings.
