OTTAWA, Nov. 18, 2013 /CNW/ - Patrick Boissier, chairman and CEO of French shipbuilder DCNS will visit Canada November 20 and 21, 2013 to promote his company's vision for the future of Canada's navy and plans to help grow the Canadian maritime sector.
DCNS' next-generation multimission FREMM frigate is a leading contender for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program under the National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS). Valued at approximately $33 billion, NSPS is the largest investment ever undertaken in Canada's naval sector. It is expected to create more than 15,000 jobs across the country and infuse an additional $20 billion in annual economic benefits to Canada as it maintains and upgrades this newly built fleet over the next 30 years.
While in Canada, Mr. Boissier will be meeting with prospective partners and will present DCNS' plans to participate in the CSC procurement process. Members of the media are invited to attend the following events:
