VANCOUVER, July 2, 2015 /CNW/ -
What: Residents of the GVRD will join communities across Canada for a nation-wide, cross-sectorial day of action for Jobs, Justice, and the Climate to show our leaders we as a collective demand climate action now.
When: Saturday July 4th 1:00-3:30pm PST
Where: Sunset Beach - At the Base of Beach Ave at Bute. Excellent visuals. Interviews available.
Who: 350Vancouver and community
More : With the support of First Nations, unions, non-profits, grassroots organizers and community members we are delivering an afternoon of music, entertainment and speakers on Sunset Beach, overlooking the site of the Vancouver bunker fuel spill. The event will culminate in a giant human chain along the seawall, joined by a flotilla of boats in the water from the Salish Sea Tour, to tell our leaders that if they will not protect this coast, we will. This community-created "line in the sand" is in solidarity with communities across Canada advocating for coastal protection, green job opportunities, social justice and climate action.
