Media Advisory - UNICEF Canada hosts Youth Advocacy Summit to mark National Child Day in Ottawa
OTTAWA, ON, Nov. 17, 2025 /CNW/ - UNICEF Canada invites members of the media to attend its annual Youth Advocacy Summit to mark National Child Day in Ottawa on Thursday, November 20, 2025. The event features youth leaders and social impact partners from across Canada in discussion with elected officials about how to foster change to deliver on promises for children and youth.
The event will feature remarks from:
- Sevaun Palvetzian, President and CEO, UNICEF Canada
- Hon. Patty Hajdu, Federal Minister of Jobs and Families and Minister responsible for FedNor
- Youth Leaders, UNICEF Canada Youth Advocacy Program

Youth will deliver a playbook to Canadian leaders which features their ideas and solutions on children's rights, climate change, education, governance and healthcare. Their voices also renew calls for deeper government ambition and a national strategy for children and youth. On that day, UNICEF will also release a global analysis on children's poverty, including a snapshot of where high-income countries like Canada stand.
