KITCHENER, ON, May 21, 2019 /CNW/ - Registered nurses and health-care workers will hold an information picket tomorrow to inform area citizens about cuts to registered nurses and other staff at Grand River Hospital.
Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) members will join members of Unifor, the United Steelworkers and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union to educate the public about the cuts, which will impact on access to services.
The registered nurses and hospital workers encourage members of the public to join them to protest the cuts that will hurt patient care and access to services. The information picket begins at noon on Tuesday, May 22.
In addition, registered nurses encourage Kitchener-Waterloo residents to contact their MPPs to speak against the cuts.
ONA is the union representing more than 65,000 registered nurses and health-care professionals, as well as 18,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
