Iconic Montréal landmark is undergoing a transformation on the shore of the St. Lawrence River
MONTRÉAL, Oct. 8, 2026 /CNW/ -- A new chapter in Montréal's history is unfolding on the site of the former Molson brewery. MONTONI and the Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ invite media representatives to attend the ground-breaking ceremony to officially mark the start of construction on Quartier Molson.
The inauguration will mark the first step in the transformation of one of Montréal's last major riverside sites into a complete, sustainable living environment that overlooks the St. Lawrence River. To mark the occasion, Sohmer Park – once a popular gathering place in Montréal – will be brought back to life through a temporary reconstruction evoking the site's history and the future heart of Quartier Molson.
Interviews with key spokespersons and project renderings will be available on site.
