Media Advisory: Press Conference on Internal Power Struggles Within Métis Nation-Saskatchewan
PRINCE ALBERT, SK, June 26, 2025 /CNW/ - On the morning of Thursday, June 26, 2025, two re-elected Métis Regional Directors Sherry McLennan (Western Region 2) and Wendy Geravis (Western Region 3) will hold a press conference addressing the growing internal crisis within the Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S), including the undemocratic and untransparent suspension of elected officials.
This conference will provide an update of the history, decisions and power struggles that have led to this moment, including recent developments where two duly elected leaders were denied the ability to take their oath of office. These actions raise serious concerns about transparency, democratic accountability and the systemic exclusion of elected women from leadership roles.

It is also about honouring the very foundation of Métis resistance and principle — our long-standing tradition of standing up, speaking out and refusing to be silenced.
