MEDIA ADVISORY/ PHOTO OPPORTUNITY - CHANEL PRESENTS THE SEAL OF A UNIQUE
SKILL
TORONTO, Dec. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - On Wednesday, December 8th, CHANEL will present Le Baudruchage; a technique used since the creation of No 5 in 1921 for all its perfumes. This technique is carried out completely by hand and requires a dexterity that can only be gained after many months of practice. Only 10 people at the CHANEL workshops in France master this art. We call them: Les Baudrucheuses. Performed by hand, baudruchage consists of placing a fine membrane (called the baudruche) over the neck and stopper of the bottle. Then the baudruche is held in place with two strands of pearl-cotton thread. This artisanal skill is a symbol of expertise, luxury and refinement.
Reporters and photographers are invited to see one of the masters from France demonstrate her art.
