TORONTO, Oct 27, 2016 /CNW/ - In celebration of National Sandwich Day, SUBWAY® Canada, in partnership with Food Banks Canada will host and participate in a food sort at North York Harvest Food Bank on November 2, 2016.
The event is part of a national commitment by SUBWAY® Canada to provide a meal to Food Banks Canada for every sandwich purchased with a drink on National Sandwich Day, Thursday, November 3, 2016. Through this initiative, the sandwich chain will donate more than 303,000 meals* to Food Banks Canada, which is more than the number of children across the country that rely on food banks every month. Customers who purchase a sandwich and drink at participating restaurants on November 3 will also receive a free second sandwich as a thank you for their support.
Representatives of the North York Harvest Food Bank, Food Banks Canada and SUBWAY® Canada will be on hand to discuss the state of food scarcity in Canada and how to get involved in the program.
