Media Advisory: Kayaks, Sailboats Assemble for Protest Against Airport Expansion as Queens Quay Reopens
TORONTO, June 19, 2015 /CNW/ - NoJetsTO is organizing a boat protest on the lake against the planned Island Airport expansion with a flotilla of kayaks, canoes and sailboats as the revitalized Queens Quay is reopened.
Paul Henderson, former Olympic sailor and World Champion, will be the keynote speaker.
During the weekend celebration on the reopened Queens Quay, NoJetsTO will draw attention to the single largest threat to the ongoing revitalization of Toronto's waterfront: the planned Island Airport expansion. Several speakers will highlight how the airport expansion and jets would damage the waterfront and Inner Harbour.
