VANCOUVER, BC, Oct. 21, 2025 /CNW/ - As cybersecurity threats mount, KPMG in Canada will host its first Cyber Hackathon in Vancouver on October 24, 2025, to raise awareness and encourage young professionals to explore cybersecurity as a career choice.

In collaboration with Fortinet, the global cybersecurity leader driving the convergence of networking and security, the event brings together emerging cyber talent and industry leaders for a day of innovation, networking, and insight.

Open to post-secondary students, participants can register solo or in teams of up to four for the technical challenge. This event follows a 'Capture the Flag' format, and the first to solve--or progress furthest--will earn exclusive prizes and the title of 2025 KPMG Vancouver Cyber Hackathon Champion.

Teams will work through KPMG-designed challenges focused on operational technology (OT) that mirror the real-world intricate landscape of information technology (IT) and OT with the help of generative AI.
