QUEBEC, Sept. 3, 2025 /CNW/ - Media representatives are advised that the leader of the Parti Québécois and MNA for Camille-Laurin, Paul St-Pierre Plamondon, will travel to Alberta in September to deliver a lecture at the University of Calgary, as well as several interviews and meetings.
"It's time to make contact with Alberta. I will therefore be traveling there next week to give a lecture at the University of Calgary on Quebec's political situation, federal-provincial relations and federal government's abuses of power with respect to Canada's Constitution . We share several observations regarding the state of the Canadian federation. We recall that Albertans also, in the time of Lougheed, had to fight to preserve certain rights. There is certainly a discussion to be had with Albertans about the historical and repeated abuse of power by the federal government in several areas of provincial jurisdiction, to the detriment of the democratic choices of our respective parliaments.
An independent Quebec will always be open and interested in collaborating with other provinces: we can respect our respective desires for self-determination, while working together on areas of agreement," stated the leader of Paul St-Pierre Plamondon.
