VANCOUVER, BC, Nov. 28, 2025 /CNW/ - On Monday, December 1st, the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS (BC-CfE) alongside Providence Health Care, the Health Initiative for Men & Pacific AIDS Network will host an event recognizing World AIDS Day to raise awareness to the changing landscape of HIV in BC.
This event, located at Vancouver's St. Paul's Hospital, will feature a presentation on the current state of HIV in BC, followed by a panel discussion with local community organizations addressing the rising rates of HIV, the partnership between research organizations & community practice, and the critical need for sustained government funding.
Moderated by Fiona Dalton, President & CEO of Providence Health Care, speakers will include:
- The Honourable Dr. Hedy Fry, MP for Vancouver Centre
- Dr. Julio Montaner, Executive Director & Physician-in-Chief, BC-CfE
- Aaron Purdie, Executive Director, Health Initiative for Men
- Evin Jones, Executive Director, Pacific AIDS Network
