THE EVENT:
On Sunday May 24th, Toronto residents will be stepping forward to increase awareness and raise funds to alleviate global poverty at the World Partnership Walk. An initiative of Aga Khan Foundation Canada, the Walk unites Canadians in a common effort to bring hope and renewal to poor communities living in Asia and Africa.
For the past 30 years, the Walk has raised over $90 million for international development programs and initiatives, making it the largest and most successful event of its kind in Canada. Last year nearly 40,000 Canadians came together to raise more than $7 million in Calgary, Edmonton, Kitchener-Waterloo, London, Ottawa, Montreal, Regina, Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria.
NEW: For the first time ever, Aga Khan Foundation Canada's brand new Together mobile exhibit will be visiting the Walk! Together: An Exhibition on Global Development is a unique, mobile exhibition, housed in a 53-foot, custom vehicle, which creates an innovative, interactive and multi-sensory experience designed to spark conversations about the role that Canadians can play in reducing global poverty.
