VANCOUVER, Sept. 25 /CNW/ - The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) will hold a day-long youth forum on the Olympic Truce with a group of British Columbia youth on Monday, September 28.
John Furlong, VANOC's Chief Executive Officer, will discuss building peace through sport and culture with the group of 16- to 22-year-olds and introduce Vancouver 2010's grassroots 'Make Your Peace' initiative in honour of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Truce.
Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean, Governor General of Canada, will also speak at the event in the spirit of her Youth Dialogues touring series across Canada.
The media are invited to attend sections or the entire day of activities, which includes an hour-long forum where students can share their thoughts with the Governor General, and presentations by creativity expert Sir Ken Robinson and Matt Goldman, co-founder of the Blue Man Group.
