Media Advisory - Upper Clements Parks celebrates the magic of a wish with wish families
DARTMOUTH, NS, July 4, 2012 /CNW/ - The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada's Wish Nic, an annual day of fun and memories at Upper Clements Park, is being held Sunday July 8.
The annual Wish Nic, a worry-free day that provides fun and entertainment for wish families, is open to all Nova Scotia wish families giving them the opportunity to enjoy rides, entertainment and a barbeque.
During the day there will be fundraising events such as toonie toss and several games of chance. Several Wish Families will be available for interviews and photos during the BBQ at 12 p.m.
This will mark the sixth year that Upper Clements Park will make a donation to Children's Wish. Over the last five years Upper Clements Parks has donated in cash and in-kind, in excess of $100,000.
Operated by the Upper Clements Parks Society, Upper Clements Park covers 75 acres of land in Upper Clements, Annapolis County, and includes a thrilling collection of rides and attractions.
"We'd like to express our gratitude to the Upper Clements Parks Society and Upper Clements Park for once again hosting Wish Nic," states Cheryl Matthews, Chapter Director, Nova Scotia Chapter. "It is from the support of community members like the Upper Clements Parks Society that we are able to continue our tradition of never refusing an eligible child his or her wish."
Proceeds support Children's Wish in its mission to grant wishes to children three to 17 living with a life threatening illness.

The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada
Each year, thousands of Canadian children between the ages of three and 17 are diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Since 1984, The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada has worked tirelessly to grant exceptional wishes to 18,000 children and their families.
This year, the Foundation expects to grant 1,000 new wishes and is proud to have never refused a wish to an eligible child, and with the help of volunteers and generous donors, is able to grant nearly three wishes every day. Each wish is an individual adventure, carefully structured to meet the needs of a particular child and family. The Foundation is a grassroots charity with chapters in every province and territory.
