Media Advisory - Union members to protest line-crossing managers in Belleville

BELLEVILLE, ON, April 19, 2017 /CNW/ - In a show of solidarity with striking members of Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU) Local 316 at Community Living Campbellford/Brighton (CLCB), OPSEU Local 448 is hosting a picket this afternoon. Union members will be picketing outside of Pathways to Independence, an agency that has been sending managers to cross the picket line at CLCB.

Wednesday, April 19

1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

289 Pinnacle Street, Belleville, ON, K8N 3B3

"We condemn crossing picket lines as these managers are doing. This information picket is about ensuring the managers at Pathways to Independence know they aren't avoiding scrutiny, and that their own employees don't support their actions," said OPSEU Local 316 bargaining team member Courtney Huycke. "These managers are prolonging the strike and sacrificing quality of care for the people CLCB supports."
