OAKVILLE, ON, Feb. 2, 2012 /CNW/ - A group of Halton Region union leaders are scheduled to meet with Federal Minister of Labour and Halton MP Lisa Raitt as part of a pre-budget consultation meeting on Friday February 3. The meeting will take place at the CAW Local 707 union hall in Oakville, Ontario and will start at 11:00 a.m.

Representatives include Oakville and District Labour Council President Dave Millar, CAW Local 707 President Gary Beck as well as representatives from the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU), the Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario (ETFO), the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation (OSSTF) and the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC).
Union leaders are expected to touch on issues of job creation, pension protection, preserving public services and corporate tax cuts, as well as the lingering dispute between Caterpillar and CAW in London, Ontario.
