Annual award by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers recognizes 75 employers for creating exceptional workplaces for young people to begin their careers.
TORONTO, Sept. 25, 2012 /CNW/ - This year's winners of the "Canada's Top Employers for Young People" competition will be recognized this afternoon for their efforts in helping students and recent graduates build long-term careers. The annual award, now in its 10th year, is managed by the editors of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project in partnership with KPMG LLP, the competition's sponsor.
"From internship opportunities to comprehensive training programs, these progressive employers lead the nation in cultivating the skills and expertise of the next generation," says Richard Yerema, Author of the Canada's Top 100 Employers project.
"The competition helps students and new grads become more informed," adds Kristina Leung, the project's Editor. "Our editorial team publishes detailed Reasons for Selection explaining why each organization is chosen, which provides transparency in the selection process and lets young people discover the benefits they should look for in a great employer."
The award presentation will take place at the New Grad Career Expo, a huge student job fair that matches award-winning employers with university and college students looking for their first job. The Expo takes place today at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building) from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. This event attracts thousands of young people, who will be on hand for the award presentation by the Top 100 editors.
