Media Advisory - The Trews join Virgin Mobile's RE*Generation Movement
The Trews visit Toronto-based Remix Project to raise funds and awareness for at-risk youth
TORONTO, May 17 /CNW/ - Canadian rock sensations The Trews will be at Toronto's Remix Project on May 27, 2010 to lend their support to Virgin Mobile's RE*Generation, a movement aimed at raising funds and awareness for at-risk and homeless youth in Canada. The Trews will tour Remix's new facility, play an acoustic song and spend the afternoon with students and graduates of the Remix Project - a Toronto-based arts, cultural and life skills incubator for talented but vulnerable youth across the GTA. The Trews will see first-hand the real solutions for at-risk youth and youth homelessness that programs like the Remix Project are putting into action. The visit to the facility will take place the afternoon before The Trews perform a benefit concert at Toronto's Opera House to support Virgin Unite partners in Canada like The Remix Project.
The Trews - comprised of lead vocalist Colin MacDonald; guitarist John-Angus MacDonald; drummer Sean Dalton, and bassist Jack Syperek - are true Canadian rock stars who have garnered national and international acclaim. The five-time JUNO Award nominees were also nominated for Best New Band by both SPIN.com and Classic Rock magazine in the UK. Their hit song, "Hold Me In Your Arms," from the band's latest studio album, No Time For Later achieved gold status for sales of more than 20,000 digital downloads. The U.S. Indie Music Awards also declared it 2009's Best Hard Rock Song.

About RE*Generation
The RE*Generation movement was launched by Virgin Mobile to empower a generation to help its own by bringing together companies and organizations that care about Canada's at-risk and homeless youth, and connecting them with young people who need help. All proceeds raised through the RE*Generation movement support Virgin Unite, the charitable arm of the Virgin group of companies, and its network of partners and programs dedicated to finding long term solutions to youth homelessness across the country.
