OTTAWA, Feb. 13, 2018 /CNW/ - Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, will participate in the third annual cross-country ski event on Parliament Hill on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at 12:30 p.m.
To encourage schools across Canada to build ski tracks in their yards, and in celebration of the 23rd Olympic Winter Games, senators, members of Parliament, Olympians and Paralympians, youth and volunteers will ski around a circuit on the West Lawn.
This event was created to promote National Health and Fitness Day and to encourage Canadians to embrace winter, and is held in partnership with the Nakkertok Nordic Club and XC Ski Fast. Members of the public are invited to bring their skis and join in the fun.
