OTTAWA, June 2, 2017 /CNW/ - The Taxpayers' Ombudsman, Sherra Profit, will hold a press conference to present a report on her latest systemic examination on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 1:00p.m. in the Amphitheatre of the National Press Building, 150 Wellington Street, Ottawa.
The Ombudsman will deliver her findings and recommendations regarding the Canada Pension Plan and Employment Insurance (CPP/EI) ruling letters issued by the Canada Revenue Agency. A CPP/EI ruling is an official decision that confirms whether a worker is considered to be an employee or self‑employed.
Copies of the Ombudsman's report will be available to Press Gallery members in advance -- under embargo until the news conference -- from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Green Room of the National Press Building.
