Media Advisory - St. Joseph's Health Centre to unveil improved children's floor and expanded Just for Kids Clinic with special gift announcement
TORONTO, April 18, 2016 /CNW/ - St. Joseph's Health Centre is having an official re-opening of the children's floor and Just for Kids Clinic thanks to donors who raised $1.5 million to make the space truly special for kids who need care.
The event will include donor recognition as well as tours to showcase the new space. Doubled in size, the redesigned clinic feels friendly and child-centred, bringing in elements from the community in a whimsical way, including interactive games -- all helping kids be more receptive to care when they visit.
St. Joseph's Health Centre had 57,000 visits from children last year, including 12,000 in the Just for Kids Clinic – the only paediatrician-run walk-in clinic inside a hospital in Toronto.
The $1.5 million raised to renovate the space is part of a $70 million campaign called Promise to modernize and build better spaces for patients, purchase new equipment and technology, and create specialized areas for care to meet the specific health needs of the community.
