MONTREAL, Nov. 2, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - A classic car is about to find a new home! Shriners Hospitals for Children®-Canada, the Fiat Alfa Romeo Club of Quebec and Desmeules Fiat de Laval will draw a Fiat Spider Model 2000, 1979 edition tonight! In a bid to raise $50,000, this group sold 500 tickets for this Fiat Spider. The hospital's partners have covered all the costs to this raffle and will be donating the prize, therefore all the funds raised will go towards the construction of the new Shriners Hospitals for Children-Canada. It is Anamaria, a 15 year-old hospital patient who was diagnosed at an early age with osteogenesis imperfecta type 1 or brittle bone disease, who will have the honour of drawing the winning ticket.
Organized by the Alfa Romeo Club and Desmeules Fiat de Laval, the draw will take place during a Gastronomic dinner on Saturday, November 2nd at Château Vaudreuil at 21700, Route Transcanadienne in Vaudreuil. With more than 250 expected to attend, the dinner will open with a cocktail at 6 PM. True to form for this group, on display during the event are a the Fiat Spider 2000 being drawn, a 2012 Fiat 500 1st edition number 13 of 500 and a Fiat 500 L.
Generous contribution to the construction project
The construction of the new Canada Shriners Hospital is well under way and is expected to be completed by the fall of 2015. These new facilities will allow specialists to diagnose and treat more children with complex orthopaedic conditions coming to us from communities across Canada. The new hospital will feature increased space dedicated to research laboratories and clinical care activities in order to continue to develop leading edge treatments for children with complex orthopedic conditions. The new hospital environment will be focused on families with the additional family rooms on each level, increased space allotted to rehabilitation and ambulatory care services, day treatment and day surgery centers.
