Leaders from government, food industry and health to unveil 6 overarching and 27 specific recommendations
OTTAWA, July 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The multi-stakeholder Sodium Working Group will be holding a news conference to release the Sodium Reduction Strategy for Canada.
The national strategy includes specific recommendations to reduce the sodium consumed by Canadians. Currently, Canadians consume more than twice the amount of sodium they need, contributing to alarmingly high incidences of high blood pressure, strokes and heart disease.
The Sodium Working Group includes representatives from government, the food industry and health professionals.
