Media Advisory - RCMP Synthetic Drug Awareness Workshop
LONDON, ON, March 20, 2017 /CNW/ - On May 4th, 2017, the RCMP is hosting a workshop at University Community Centre – Room 146, Western University, 1151 Richmond Street, London, Ontario. The purpose of the training is to share critical information with emergency first responders on the hidden dangers associated to clandestine drug laboratories and the illicit drugs they produce.
The agenda will include:
- Types of Clandestine Labs
- Synthesis Production Methods
- Chemical Hazards in a Clandestine Lab
- Meth 101
- Personal Protective Equipment
- First Responder Procedures
- Current Trends
- The Fentanyl Crisis
"The manufacturing and trafficking of highly toxic substances such as meth, ketamine and fentanyl are serious crimes that leave behind a trail of violence and destruction. The problem involves organized crime groups that do not respect the health and well-being of our communities. We're building strong partnerships with emergency first responders to keep our children, families and homes safe," said Insp. Joe CZENZE, RCMP London Detachment.
