on overdiagnosis in the health care system

MONTRÉAL, Oct. 29, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - The media are invited to a joint press conference by the Québec Medical Association (QMA) and the Association québécoise d'établissements de santé et de services sociaux (AQESSS) at which both associations will announce that they are joining forces to eliminate the problem of overdiagnosis in the health care system.

The Québec Medical Association is made up of close to 10,000 general practitioners, specialists, residents and medical students. The mission of the Association québécoise d'établissements de santé et de services sociaux is to unify, represent and provide support to its members as they execute their respective mandates while improving the quality, accessibility and continuity of health and social services offered to the residents of Québec. The organization includes 125 members, of which 92 health and social services centres (CSSS), university hospital centres, affiliated hospitals and university centres, university institute and single-purpose health-care facilities and residential and long-term care centres (CHSLD).
