OSC Dialogue 2013: Advancing The Discussion On Realities and Trends in Today's Capital Markets

TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2013 /CNW/ - On Tuesday, October 8, 2013, the Ontario Securities Commission will host OSC Dialogue, featuring compelling and renowned experts, who will provide insight on current issues impacting the capital markets.

"In an increasingly complex and interconnected global marketplace, the need to share information and ideas has become especially important," said OSC Chair and CEO Howard Wetston, Q.C.  "OSC Dialogue provides a forum where market participants and industry experts come together to have open and frank discussions on some of the biggest issues facing the capital markets today."

• Behavioural Economics & Investor Protection: Reality or Trend? Discussion of the role of behavioural economics when it comes to investor decision-making.
• Enforcement: Achieving deterrence objective? Explore the question "What is deterrence?" and how research in this area might inform a regulator's enforcement of securities law.
• Capital Formation: Focus on how to maintain a healthy capital raising environment and the role of the regulator in capital formation.
