CALGARY, June 12, 2012 /CNW/ - Media are invited to attend the Nova Scotia launch of the Mental Health Commission of Canada's (MHCC) Changing Directions, Changing Lives: The Mental Health Strategy for Canada.
Changing Directions, Changing Lives is the first-ever national strategy to improve mental health for all Canadians. The Strategy, which follows several years of unprecedented consultation with thousands of Canadians, is a blueprint to promote mental health, prevent mental illness, and ensure that services and supports are there for people who need them.
President and CEO of the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Louise Bradley, will present the Strategy to Nova Scotia government officials, community health workers and caregivers. Participating in the presentation will be the Honourable David Wilson, Minister of Health and Wellness, and Maureen Fraser-McLaughlin, Executive Director of Laing House Association.
