Media Advisory - Minister of Canadian Heritage and dignitaries to attend official Trans Canada Trail Connection Milestone Ceremony in the Yukon

On February 27 at the Yukon Sourdough Rendezvous festival in Whitehorse, the
Trans Canada Trail (TCT) will officially announce that connection of the TCT has been achieved in the Yukon. This event will be attended by TCT partners, government supporters and donors, including major TCT donor CIBC, Canada's bank of the North. Government representatives in attendance will include the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage and the Honourable Doug Phillips, Commissioner of Yukon, among others.

The Trans Canada Trail (TCT) will celebrate the Yukon's TCT connection milestone with the many partners, donors and volunteers who contributed to the realization of this goal across the territory. Yukon becomes Canada's third province or territory, after Newfoundland & Labrador and Prince Edward Island, to reach this Trail connection milestone. This historic achievement brings the TCT one step closer to its goal of connecting the main route of the TCT and Canadians in time for Canada's 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.
