Media Advisory - Minister Joly Travels to Los Angeles to Strengthen Economic Ties between Canada and the United States

GATINEAU, QC, April 18, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will be travelling to Los Angeles, California, to further highlight the economic and strategic relationship between Canada and the United States. The United States has no closer friend, ally or partner than Canada. We enjoy the longest, most peaceful and mutually beneficial relationship of any two countries on the planet.

During her trip, Minister Joly will meet with United States government representatives to emphasize the importance of this economic relationship, especially in relation to creative industries. She will also be meeting with several Canadian creators working in Los Angeles, and attend roundtables with executives in the creative sector to promote Canada as a key player in the entertainment industry.

Minister Joly participates in a roundtable with the Motion Picture Association of America and executives from the film and television industry.

Minister Joly meets with Eric Garcetti, Mayor of the City of Los Angeles.

Minister Joly meets with Senator Ben Allen, Chair of the Joint Committee on the Arts, and will participate in a media scrum.

Minister Joly attends the launch of the Canadian Creative Industries Advisory Council.

2:00 p.m.

Minister Joly meets with Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content for YouTube.

4:00 p.m.

Minister Joly takes a tour of the YouTube Space LA.
