VANCOUVER, Feb. 16 /CNW/ - Vancouver Mayor Gregor Robertson will join Elyse Allan, President and CEO of GE Canada, and the Chinese Skating Association to welcome the Chinese New Year at GE Plaza, Robson Square.
The event, in honour of the remarkable achievements by the Chinese Figure Skating Team during the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games, will celebrate the Chinese New Year and recognize the rich, shared tradition between Vancouver and its Chinese residents.
The event will include: - Presentation of a City flag from the Mayor of Vancouver to the Chinese figure skating team - A Chinese New Year Blessing - A celebration of the Olympic medal-winning Chinese pairs figure skating team - A tribute performance by local BC provincial and Canadian national team skaters - Chinese-Canadian personality, Karen So - Lion Dance in celebration of the Chinese New Year DATE: Wednesday, February 17, 2010 TIME: 1:00 pm.
