Coin kicks off Royal Canadian Mint's in-Games programming in Vancouver

    What:     To celebrate the release of the 2010 Lucky Loonie, the Royal
              Canadian Mint will host a public hockey shoot-out competition
              in front of the Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion. The lucky winner
              of the shoot-out will receive two tickets to the men's gold
              medal ice hockey game.

Lucky Loonie one-dollar coins wil be available to exchange at the event and the following day at RBC branches across the country. RBC Royal Bank is the exclusive distributor of the 2010 Lucky Loonie.

From February 12-28, the Royal Canadian Mint will welcome the world to the Royal Canadian Mint Pavilion, located in downtown Vancouver . This must-see exhibit will allow visitors to get an up-close view of the medals for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games; see the Mint's world-famous million-dollar gold coin and other gold products; learn how coins are made; participate in children's programming; collect all Vancouver 2010 circulation coins and purchase unique Vancouver 2010 souvenirs.
