Front-line RNs raising awareness of RN care hour cuts
LONDON, ON, July 28, 2016 /CNW/ - Registered nurses (RNs) from London Health Sciences Centre will hold an information picket on Friday, July 29 at 11:00 am. The Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) members will raise awareness of the alarming rate at which their employer is cutting RNs and their quality care in London.
The RNs will gather at the corner of Wellington and Commissioners streets to raise public awareness of the impact of RN cuts. They will be joined by area MPPs as they discuss the implications for patients on cuts to RNs and the recent dismissal of the hospital's chief nursing executive.
ONA is the union representing 62,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates, providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
