TORONTO, Dec. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - Lia Grimanis, founder of Up With Women and recognized as one of Canada's most powerful women will set a Guinness World Record for the "Heaviest Vehicle Pulled 100ft By A Woman". Lia will pull a 34,000lbs transport truck to raise awareness for women at risk and to inspire women to realize they are stronger than they think they are.
"When I was homeless, I didn't think I would live past the age of 21," said Grimanis. "On December 12, I celebrate my 42nd birthday and I couldn't think of a better time to take the opportunity to raise awareness for women's issues and to try inspire those who might need a bit of encouragement to make a positive change in their lives."
Marnie McBean, former Canadian Olympic gold medal winning rower, will participate as a guest judge in the event.
